Beach Towels

When you head to the beach, make sure you pack a few beach towels. You usually want at least one towel per person in your family or group. It's often helpful to bring a few extra towels along, too. Towels for the Beach

If you think that all towels are the same, think again. While you can use bath towels at the beach or pool, they won't work as well as one designed for the beach does. The biggest difference between beach and pool towels is that those for the beach are bigger. You don't need to worry about giving up a lot of space in your beach totes for these towels, though. Just roll or fold them. Most beach towels have two different sides. While one side is resistant to sand and perfect for laying flat on the beach, the other helps pull water off your body.

Pool Towels

For days when you plan to spend more time in or by the pool, look for pool towels. While they come in some of the same colors and patterns as beach towels do, they are typically smaller and more absorbent. These towels help you dry your body as quickly as possible after a dip in the pool. They also dry quickly, especially when you lay them out in an area with a lot of sunshine. Another benefit of buying these towels is that they are resistant to fading.

Beach Blankets

Frankie and Annette caused a stir with their hit 1960s film Beach Blanket Bingo. You can cause a similar stir with beach blankets for your next beach day.
